Shungite

One mouse study; no human evidence.

Vybe Source sells shungite, a black, carbon-rich rock, as a mineral with “potent health benefits” whose fullerenes “ground your body to Earth’s natural frequency”. Short answer: one study found shungite rubbed on sunburned mouse skin reduced damage, and that is the only health study we found. Analyses of the rock’s carbon describe it mostly as graphene-like layers, and we found no study of “grounding” or an “Earth frequency” in people.

What the research shows

Grades are calculated from the studies listed, by fixed rules.

  • Shungite has potent health benefitsLab studies only

One study found shungite applied to sunburned mouse skin reduced damage and inflammation markers. We found no study in people — of wearing, holding or drinking water from shungite.

  • Shungite’s fullerenes ground your body to Earth’s natural frequencyNo real evidence

We found no study of shungite “grounding” a body, and no measure of an “Earth frequency” in people. Analyses of the rock’s carbon describe it mostly as graphene-like layers, and even a study that tested it says the fullerene content is poorly documented.
