The trials disagree, and none tested a home chamber.
Hyperbaric chambers raise the air pressure so you breathe in more oxygen; soft home versions are now sold for recovery. Short answer: a Cochrane review of placebo-controlled trials found muscle soreness was worse, not better, when the treatment started straight after exercise, while a 2026 review found faster recovery without saying its trials used a sham. We found no study of a home chamber. Ask a doctor first if you have lung, ear or sinus problems.

Grades are calculated from the studies listed, by fixed rules.
One trial in men living at 4,300 metres, where the air is thin — it says nothing about sleep at sea level, and was not blinded.
The two pooled analyses disagree. The Cochrane review found soreness was worse, not better, when hyperbaric oxygen began right after exercise; a 2026 analysis of ten trials found faster recovery but does not say its trials used a sham. Both pooled small trials, mostly in clinic chambers.

We found no study of this chamber. The recovery trials above used clinic chambers and still disagree with each other. Ask what pressure a home chamber reaches; and anyone with lung, ear or sinus problems should check with a doctor before using one.
