Hydroxyapatite: fluoride-free enamel care

The toothpaste has a trial. The serum does not.

Dentite Tooth Armor is a nano-hydroxyapatite serum: a few drops at night, sold as the step toothpaste is missing. Short answer: hydroxyapatite itself has a decent trial — as a toothpaste, brushed twice a day, it prevented new decay about as well as fluoride toothpaste over 18 months. We found no study of a hydroxyapatite serum like Dentite.

One 18-month double-blind trial of 189 adults found a fluoride-free hydroxyapatite toothpaste no worse than fluoride toothpaste at preventing new decay. Three authors work for its maker, and there was no placebo group.

We found no study of Dentite. The trial above tested a toothpaste brushed twice a day, not a serum applied at night; a different product and a different routine.
